We stayed for 2 nights, hotel appears a bit too dark and moody in the entrance and corridors but room was nice, although had a very confusing lighting set up that we hadn't figured out by the time we left. The rooftop onsen was good but looking a bit dated and had more of a Swedish spa feel than onsen with all the timber. Good location walking distance to main street and train station. Biggest downer for us was the 5pm check-in time, which despite being told our room was actually cleaned and ready we were not allowed to check in, so basically had to walk around waiting, which was bizarre because I would imagine most people would check out in the morning so the rooms are actually ready.

Was an amazing stay and experience that exceeded all of our expectations, the pictures don't do it justice. The ambience is so serene and feels like luxury right from the front door. The room was immaculate and large, with so many amenities provided. The private rooftop onsen was a highlight of our whole trip, it was incredible to be able to sit in the onsen and enjoy the night air or even the occasional bit of snow. The sushi restaurant attached was divine. Can't recommend enough.

Purpose of Stay
I stayed for the first time as the conclusion to my Tokyo trip.

Arrival
I checked in just before 11 PM, and when I arrived at the front desk, the staff immediately came to assist me, providing detailed instructions on where to park.

During the Stay
I wasn’t bothered by the noise from neighboring rooms or ambient sounds, and the view from the open-air onsen was perfect. I was fortunate with the weather — the stars were beautiful at night, and in the morning, the refreshing winter cold and the warm sunlight made it comfortable to enjoy sunbathing on the bed in front of the open-air onsen bath.

Amenities
At the front desk, there were amenities like toothbrushes, hair ties (rubber bands and clips), lip balm, and facial masks. In the room, I had 2L of water, two bags of drip coffee, and tea bags. There were two bath towels provided per person, one for use after showering in the room and the other for use after the rooftop outdoor bath. The room also had a television, and I could watch fairly recent movies.

Improvements
If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be the parking. While it’s about a 5-minute walk from the accommodation, the sloping hill made it quite challenging to walk up with a suitcase.

More than expectation. Every detail of the design of the room were thought. High tech with smart TV and lighting controls. Fusion between modern Scandi meets Japan interior. The amenities were top notch. Words aren’t enough to describe how much we loved the space along the rooftop private bath. Wish we had booked a longer stay. Very quiet. Immaculate sound proofing.

The room and onsen are nice, but having a scenic rooftop instead of a completely enclosed space would enhance the experience.

The location is conveniently close to the train station.

However, I was very disappointed with the sushi restaurant that I wanted to ask for a refund. While the food quality was decent, the service was extremely slow. We waited for 25 minutes without being served because there was only one chef attending to another couple. We spent over two hours there, and the number of dishes was quite limited, leading us to fall asleep a few times. It took them 10 minutes to serve each sushi and 20 minutes just to prepare some fruit. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that felt like a significant waste of time. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend their sushi restaurant, but everything else was satisfactory.

I visited because I really like modern and calm atmospheres. The entire ryokan, the room, and the private open-air onsen were all even more beautiful than I imagined. With the checkout time being at noon, I was very satisfied to be able to relax in the onsen in the morning as well. The staff were all very warm and handled everything with care throughout my stay.

I was staying during a birthday trip, and it seems they noticed my birthday from the guest list and prepared a surprise gift, which greatly touched me. Thank you very much for the lovely gesture. I would definitely like to stay here again.
