松坂屋本店

Long-established ryokan in Ashinoyu Hot Springs, Hakone, established 360 years ago

It is a long-established ryokan that since 2022, has been in business for 360 years and has been depicted in Hiroshige Utagawa's ukiyoe woodblock prints as a hot springs inn since the Edo period (1603-1868). The inn has been visited by many distinguished figures of the Meiji era, including Takayoshi Kido and Takamori Saigo, and many people, including members of the imperial family, have continued to visit the inn since then. There are 80 national recreational hot springs in Japan, and Ashinoyu Onsen is one of them. The hot spring at the hotel is a 100% free-flowing hot spring that contains all of the three major qualities of hot springs for beautiful skin (sulfur spring, sulfate spring, and hydrogencarbonate spring). There are a total of 21 guest rooms (11 with open-air baths) and 5 private open-air baths. The hotel implements an all-inclusive policy, which is rare for a ryokan, and in addition to the evening and breakfast meals of shukuba kaiseki, soft drinks, sake, beer, and other free drinks are available in the lounge, dining room, and in-room refrigerators.
