Kinnotake Saryo, a day-visit ryokan, will offer a special 300mm-long sweet potato dessert as a welcome treat on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, in celebration of the Hakone Daimyo Procession. We invite guests to use our tea house as a peaceful retreat from the expected traffic congestion in Hakone, where couples can enjoy this unique sweet while spending quality time together.
Additionally, Sushi Sho, located inside Hotel Zagakan (just a 6-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station), will offer special takeout pressed sushi for one day only, with staff dressed in samurai armor inspired by the daimyo procession costumes to celebrate this major event.

・About the 300mm "Extra-Long Sweet Potato Dessert":
A One-Day-Only Welcome Sweet at Kinnotake Saryo
Sweet potato dessert (Sweet Potato) is a Western-style confection that originated in Japan. Our 300mm-long version pays homage to the historical daimyo procession, which stretched approximately 300 meters in length. We use premium ingredients, including Mishima Kansho sweet potatoes, one of Hakone's Western Foot Mishima vegetables. These sweet potatoes, grown at elevations above 50 meters, offer both fluffy and moist textures in perfect balance. To enhance the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes, we slow-cook them at low temperatures and blend them with carefully selected butter and local Odawara honey. The dessert is decorated with the family crest of the Inaba clan, in honor of Inaba Masakatsu, the first lord of Odawara Domain when the sankin-kōtai system began in 1635.

・Sushi Sho will offer takeout sushi on Sunday, November 3rd only.
While their regular in-house lunch course starts from 8,800 yen, they will offer an accessible takeout option for 1,500 yen (tax included) to allow more people to enjoy their authentic sushi. The daimyo procession, which marches from Hotel Nanpuso to Yumoto Fujiya Hotel, passes by Ijima Shoten where the takeout will be available.

We invite you to enjoy the spectacular samurai procession.
