We really enjoyed our stay at Zagakukan. The room was designed beautifully and felt very cosy and private. The tub was also quite large and deep which makes it great for soaking in the onsen water. The hotel provided all sorts of amenities which was so helpful! And the location was just a short walk from Hakone Yumoto train station, so it was close to lots of shops as well. We loved it and felt it was good value for the price!

Amazing Stay with some small comments

My wife and I were here for a one night stay in Hakone as part of our Honeymoon in Japan. Our stay here was pretty amazing (we loved the happy honeymoon decoration that was provided!) other than 3 small comments.
1. Consider changing the fragrance used at the main walkway/lobby area. It’s a very odd rustic wood smell that both me and the wife didn’t find very pleasant.
2. Do consider having English interface option for your software installed in your smart television. We managed to get by using google translate but would have appreciated the option.
3. We had a few queries regarding the PPV programmes provided on the smart television. Unfortunately the front desk staff (we mainly dealt with the Indian staff as the Japanese staff was unable to speak much english) was not able to provide a definite answer to our query. Perhaps further English language training can be considered especially if trying to cater for a more international audience.

Regarding the fragrance in the lobby, we will review and evaluate its appropriateness to ensure it’s more pleasant for all guests. We also understand the importance of having an English interface for the smart TV, and we will look into adding that option. As for the PPV programe inquiries, we apologize for the lack of a clear answer from the front desk staff and will ensure better communication and language training to better assist our international guests.

Our room was a surprise! It was clean, bed very comfortable, quaint set up in the traditional Japanese Onsen style with modern facilities. We enjoyed the hot spring water soaking in the wooden bathtub.
This hotel is a walkable distance to the station- 5 mins with a medium suitcase. Customer service was excellent as they warmly greeted us despite turning up late for our check in time~9pm. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay even for a night.
