The room design was a bit awkward, but everything else was excellent.

I was very satisfied. The room’s open-air onsen was spacious and the quality of the water was wonderful.
The meal was served by the trainee, Mr. Yamamoto, and he was very attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
At other ryokan I’ve stayed at, I couldn’t drink alcohol (as there was no concept of enjoying food with alcohol), so the pace of the meal was always off, and I had always wanted to eat my rice and side dishes together. However, since I made a request in advance, the rice was served right away, and I was able to fully enjoy the many delicious side dishes and meals.
The only downside was that, due to my age, I found the lighting in the room to be quite dim, and the room’s open design, while good in some ways, would have benefited from a partition or screen.
Overall, I was very satisfied, and it was a trip that made me want to come back.
Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtful support.

This was my third stay. On my previous visits, I stayed while also enjoying sightseeing in Hakone, but the accommodation was so good that this time I stayed just for the hotel experience.
First, the staff's manners and responses were very polite, and from the moment I arrived, I could tell "I'm so glad I came." I was able to relax and enjoy the open-air onsen from the first day. I tend to get overheated easily, but with the "princess bed," I was able to fully enjoy the open-air onsen.
I felt refreshed, my body warmed up, and my skin became smooth—it was all positive.
The food was also a delight, with seasonal vegetables and fish. As soon as I entered the dining room, a wonderful aroma filled the air, instantly lifting my spirits. The presentation and dishes were beautiful, and the taste was so delicious that I couldn't help but marvel. The foam salt added a unique texture. At first, I thought there might be too much food, but since it was so delicious, I finished it all. I even had a second serving of rice at breakfast. It was truly a meal that satisfied all five senses.
Since I didn't go out this time, I ordered rice balls for lunch, and they were prepared for me, so I was able to enjoy my time completely satisfied.
Also, for the first time in my third visit, I went to the teppanyaki restaurant "Zen" and tasted the special meat from Ishigaki Island, which the chef is passionate about. Honestly, it was the best meat I've ever had in my life. In most cases, tender meat tends to have a lot of fat, and I sometimes feel a bit heavy after eating it, but the meat here had very little fat, was juicy and tender, and I could eat it endlessly.
The chef's stories were also very interesting, and I had a wonderful time enjoying delicious meat while having great conversations.
Additionally, the consommé soup was incredibly delicious, and when it was turned into rice porridge at the end, I couldn't stop eating. I ended up having two servings. Next time, I will definitely have a meal at "Zen" again.
As usual, I also visited the spa. Since my first visit, I have been hooked. The whole body massage was perfect, and I was completely relaxed. After finishing, I was already thinking about which course to try next time.
I have written a lot, but above all, it was the staff's hospitality that made my stay so wonderful. Even without sightseeing, just staying at the hotel was amazing. I will focus on enjoying just the hotel experience again next time. Thank you very much.

We were able to create wonderful memories during the New Year

I made a reservation for January 1st the day before, hoping to find something available. It seemed like most good ryokans would be fully booked, but miraculously, this one had availability!
The price was of course higher, but we were able to relax and enjoy the New Year.
Since it was a last-minute booking, it was understandable, but I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't use the sauna or large bath since I had paid a high price.
The open-air onsen in the room made me wonder if it was really onsen, as it didn't feel very much like one.
At breakfast, the drink I ordered came just before dessert, and since I had asked for the meal to be served earlier due to the restrictions from the Hakone Ekiden, that was a bit disappointing as well.
However, the dinner was absolutely delicious, and the chef was very friendly, making it a really enjoyable time. I’m so glad I switched to the teppanyaki.
I would love to visit again if I have the opportunity.

We stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary trip. The room was amazing, and we were also relaxed by the fish swimming in the bath. The sauna pool was fully booked by the time we checked in after 3 PM, so we couldn’t use it, but we were able to enjoy a relaxing time in our room. We were also touched by the smile of our server, Mr. Kiyoshi, during breakfast, and Mr. Kokubo kindly helped us find a small cardboard box for sending a package, also with a smile.
The food, especially the Japanese dinner, was beautiful and delicious. I had to deduct one point because the music from the Bluetooth speaker in the next room was so loud that it caused the wall to vibrate, but overall, it was a wonderful place. For our 15th anniversary, they made beautiful cranes and petals on the bed, and we were given chopsticks as a special gift, which created unforgettable memories.

Our family of three recently stayed at your wonderful Japanese-style onsen hotel, and we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service we received.
We were especially grateful for the attentiveness during breakfast, where the staff went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. A special mention goes to your team member, センさん, who not only introduced the dishes to us with great detail but also kindly recommended some fantastic nearby attractions. It truly made our trip even more memorable.
When we returned to pick up our luggage, we were pleasantly surprised that your staff took the initiative to bring our belongings to the hotel entrance. These thoughtful touches really highlight the quality of your service.
We would love to stay at your hotel again in the future and look forward to seeing how you continue to improve. Thank you for making our stay so delightful! Wishing you continued success and excellence.

We spent 2 fabulous nights and wish we had planned to stay longer. The room was comfortable and well equipped, the private bath a luxury we enjoyed many times a day. The fully stocked fridge was also much appreciated.
We really enjoyed all our meals which were tasty, imaginative and beautifully presented.
The staff were all lovely, warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating. But a special shoutout to Miss Yuica Kobuko who does everything with such sincerity that it truly touched our hearts. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Kinnotake Tonosawa had the perfect room to retreat to after a day of exploring around Hakone. My wife and I both took long soaks in the relaxing private outdoor onsen bath. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We were very impressed with the level of service. The breakfast room provided a beautiful view of the valley, and the Japanese food exceeded expectations. The room was not overly expensive, and it's definitely a great value.

I was finally able to stay at this ryokan. I've wanted to visit for a long time. As soon as I entered, I could feel the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The staff's attentive service was also very good. I appreciated their thoughtfulness in changing the course meal since I had communicated my dislike for seafood in advance. The welcome drink, with choices from the menu, made it hard to decide. The fireworks on the terrace at night were beautiful, and enjoying them with a drink created great memories. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, and the onsen felt wonderful, leaving my skin smooth. The view of the bamboo from there was very calming. I look forward to seeing the different scenery through the seasons and would love to visit again.

The hotel and staff made our stay so so special. I cannot recommend this ryoken enough. Thank you Kinnotake Tonosawa!!

We stayed at this accommodation during my pregnancy. They changed the meals to those suitable for pregnant women and the staff took great care of my well-being throughout our stay. Their hospitality made our couple’s trip an unforgettable experience.
When we were leaving, they gave us a protective charm for safe childbirth from Hakone Shrine, which deeply touched us. This place has the best food and staff hospitality. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights and we had an outstanding experience. Coming from 10 days in Tokyo, this was the perfect way to rest and relax in our private onsen surrounded by beautiful nature and bamboo groves. The room was very spacious and serene, it had a large bed, comfortable lounging area, kitchenette, and several amenities included. We enjoyed the daily kaiseki breakfast and dinner, the cocktail bar, and the teppanyaki just up the street. We can't say enough great things about the hospitality by all the staff, the level of service, and everything that came with it. This is probably one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at. When we told a friend about our trip to Japan for our honeymoon she couldn't have recommended Kinnotake Tonosawa high enough and we are so glad we took her recommendation. We had high expectations and it surpassed all of them! The service was incredible and felt so personal, our food was the best of our trip (especially the teppanyaki dinner), and we were able to truly relax after a few hectic days in Tokyo. Our only downside was that we wished we had booked more than one night! I was a bit nervous before leaving that it would be hard to get to, but it ended up being even easier than I expected via public transportation. We already want to come back and if you're thinking about staying, I would book right now!!

I have visited Sengokuhara before, but this was my first time at Tonosawa, and I was also impressed by the spaciousness of the place. The meals were delicious, and the rooms were of a comfortable size, making them easy to use. The outdoor onsen in the room was large, and I didn't feel the need for a communal bath. The dining area had ample space, and I didn't feel bothered by neighboring seats. The spa was also great. I will definitely visit again.
