Discover Autumn in Hakone: Mt. Kintoki & the Old Tokaido Road
Mt. Kintoki & Old Tokaido Road — Autumn Hiking in Hakone
Where history meets nature — golden leaves, ancient paths, and views of Mt. Fuji.

Hidden in the mountains of Hakone, Mt. Kintoki and the Old Tokaido Road offer an unforgettable glimpse into Japan’s timeless beauty — especially in autumn.
As the leaves turn shades of crimson and gold, these trails invite visitors to experience both the serenity of nature and the echoes of history.
Mt. Kintoki, standing at 1,212 meters, is known for its panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and its link to the folklore hero Kintaro. The gentle but rewarding hike is perfect for travelers seeking fresh mountain air and breathtaking vistas.

Nearby, the Old Tokaido Road once connected Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto during the Edo period. Today, its cobblestone paths, lined with towering cedar trees and mossy stone markers, lead modern travelers through centuries of stories.
Together, they represent the spirit of Hakone in autumn — peaceful, picturesque, and deeply connected to Japan’s cultural soul.
