Teppanyaki Zen, the Only Restaurant in Kanagawa Serving Premium Beef with Just 48 Cattle Shipped Annually, Now Offering Lunch Service

The gateway to an extraordinary experience begins as you cross the railway bridge over the Hayakawa River and climb the path alongside KINNOTAKE Tonosawa. Nestled at the top lies the teppanyaki restaurant "Zen."
Starting in September 2024, the restaurant has expanded its hours to offer lunch in addition to dinner, allowing more visitors to Hakone to indulge in rare premium beef.

▼ What is Teppanyaki Zen?
Located about 5 minutes by car from Hakone Yumoto Station, Teppanyaki Zen is perched atop a hill within the grounds of KINNOTAKE Tonosawa, a luxury onsen ryokan where every room has a private outdoor bath. Since its opening in 2023, the restaurant has been offering the rare and exquisite "Ishigaki Island Kitauchi Farm Premium Beef," which can only be enjoyed here in Kanagawa Prefecture, to both guests staying at KINNOTAKE Tonosawa and all visitors to Hakone.
The premium beef, with only 48 heads shipped annually, is known for its smooth, light fat and rich aroma. Not only the beef but also seasonal vegetables and desserts are carefully crafted, leaving a lasting impression, with the menu changing monthly to ensure a satisfying dining experience throughout the course.
The restaurant also offers a wide selection of drinks, including wine, and its calm interior is perfect for celebrating special occasions.
While dinner service is available until 20:30, which is considered late for restaurants in Hakone, we received feedback from customers wishing for an earlier option, either because they needed to rest early for the next day or wanted a delicious meal to conclude their trip after checking out. In response, we are now pleased to offer lunch service as well.
