Wishes from Kinnotake Guests Offered at Hakone & Kuzuryu Shrines

Tanabata 2025 – Wishes from Kinnotake Guests Offered at Hakone & Kuzuryu Shrines

Guests from all three Kinnotake Group facilities shared their heartfelt Tanabata wishes, now respectfully dedicated at two of Hakone’s most sacred shrines.

As part of our annual Tanabata celebration, we are delighted to share that the tanzaku (wish cards) written by guests at our three Kinnotake Group facilities — Kinnotake Sengokuhara, Kinnotake Tonosawa, and Matsuzakaya Honten — have once again been respectfully offered at the sacred Hakone Shrine.

Before the offering, we took a quiet moment at the Kuzuryu Chōzuya (Dragon Fountain)—located within the grounds of Hakone Shrine—to ritually purify our hands with the water flowing from the mouths of nine dragon heads. This beautiful and symbolic gesture allowed us to cleanse our hearts and minds before making the dedication.

Following this, we made our way to both Hakone Shrine and Kuzuryu Shrine, two spiritually significant places nestled by Lake Ashi, to offer the wishes collected from over 200 guests. Across all three Kinnotake properties, guests participated by writing their heartfelt dreams and hopes on colorful tanzaku, creating a meaningful and shared seasonal tradition.

We sincerely thank all our guests who contributed to this year’s Tanabata celebration. May your wishes reach the stars and gently come true. We look forward to welcoming you again next year, for another magical summer under Hakone’s sacred skies.
