Experience the World of “The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter” – Limited-Edition Kaguyahime-Inspired Cocktails at Kinnotake Sengokuhara
From June 7 to August 15, 2025, Kinnotake Sengokuhara, a ryokan nestled in the cool highlands of Hakone, will offer four original cocktails inspired by Japan’s oldest folktale, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. The final day marks the symbolic date when Princess Kaguya returns to the moon.
These elegant drinks will be served at Bar bamboo, the ryokan’s only public space, known for its serene atmosphere and private bar experience. Guests can enjoy this seasonal offering as a cultural and sensory journey through Japanese tradition.
With inbound tourism to Kinnotake Resorts steadily growing (13,922 guests in 2024), this campaign offers international guests a deeper taste of Japanese culture, while also catering to domestic travelers seeking a relaxing escape from the summer heat.
Featured Cocktails:
Sasa no Ha – A green-hued cocktail made with Japanese gin, matcha liqueur, and lemon juice, evoking bamboo leaves.
Kaguyahime – A peach-based frozen cocktail with a gentle sweetness and soft color, perfect for sharing.
Bamboo – A wine-based herbal cocktail inspired by the bamboo theme, suitable as an aperitif or digestif.
I Won’t Forget You – A non-alcoholic blend of citrus, berry syrup, and egg yolk, symbolizing warmth and nostalgia.
In September 2024, Bar bamboo will open a new fully private Crystal Room, offering views of the bamboo forest and the feeling of floating above a tranquil water garden.
The bar is also home to the world’s first official ambassador of Beau Joie Champagne, a premium label enjoyed at major international events.
